Video of “Using Media Effectively” panel I appeared on at NEPA BlogCon 2012

During September of 2012, I appeared on the “Using Media Effectively” panel which had taken place at NEPA BlogCon 2012 – a first of its kind conference in the Northeastern Pennsylvania region. I primarily spoke about the NEPA Freethought Society Podcast which I host providing insight into the behind-the-scenes action, promotion, and much more. Also included in this panel, moderated by Karla Porter, are Jamie Karpovich (vegan cook and blogger of ‘Save the Kales’) and Brent Pennington (professional photographer). Enjoy!

Interview with Dan Barker – Podcast #22

Episode 22 of the NEPA Freethought Society Podcast is now available! I interviewed Dan Barker, co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, shortly after the 2012 PA State Atheist/Humanist Conference at which both of us had spoken. This podcast episode is also accompanied by a Youtube video which is a live recording of the interview – thanks to the podcast’s producer Jason Gogola.

What contributions have freethinkers made to the history of music? Can atheists properly enjoy music with religious themes? What, exactly, is a ‘botched faith healing?’ What does the FFRF do to guard the principle of church/state separation? What are effective ways to engage religious believers? Find these answers and more by listening to and/or watching the Youtube video.

NEPA Freethought Society Podcast #21 – Dr. David Kyle Johnson on ‘Natural Evil and the Simulation Hypothesis’

I’ve been waiting for the blogging network move in order to promote the newest episode of the NEPA Freethought Society Podcast which I host. …so here it is!

I interviewed Dr. David Kyle Johnson — assistant professor of philosophy at King’s College — concerning his newest paper titled ‘Natural Evil and the Simulation Hypothesis.’ We discussed contemporary Christian apologists and philosophers Alvin Plantinga and William Lane Craig and the threat which natural evil poses to the theist who may just be forced to accept the conclusion that the universe we live in is a computer simulation (and why this is much more likely than you think.

My podcast interview with D.J. Grothe

I recently recorded an interview with the president of the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF), D.J. Grothe, for a special episode of the NEPA Freethought Society Podcast produced by Jason Gogola. We primarily spoke about the intersection of atheism, skepticism, and humanism in addition to the differences concerning these individual terms. Also discussed was the James Randi Educational Foundation, skeptical activism, and much more.

Past episodes of the NEPA Freethought Society Podcast — including interviews with prominent members of the atheist/skeptic community, debates, and topical discussions — are available on the NEPA Freethought Society’s website for streaming, download from the site, and download on iTunes.
