The NEPA Freethought Society, a secular discussion and activist group located in the Northeastern Pennsylvania area, recently released its first podcast episode (listen here)!

I am the host of this podcast (in addition to being the co-organizer, spokesperson, and a board member of the NEPA Freethought Society) and was joined by Rodney Collins (founder, organizer, and chairman of the board) and Steven Detweiler (long-time member).

The first episode gives a brief introduction of the podcast members and the NEPA Freethought Society. In addition, we discuss morality (from a secular perspective), have a general discussion, and comment on various news articles [local, national, and international].

Our webmaster and producer of the podcast, Jason, did an amazing job editing this episode, putting everything together, and making this happen.

Whether you are religious or not, this podcast should be very interesting and, as always, feel free (as was mentioned in the podcast) to post comments and ask questions whether you really enjoyed this podcast, hated it, have some ideas for improvement, disagreed with something we said, or wanted to direct something at a specific panelist. Instead of commenting on my website or Facebook page as usual, and to ensure that I receive your feedback, please e-mail jvacula@nepafreethought.org.

Due to the nature of the format and time limitations, we obviously could not address every fine point or talk about one main point for an entire hour, so we were sure to ‘miss something.’ Thinking about this, I authored one post specifically addressing one issue that I mentioned during this podcast, namely that atheists only tackle simple arguments and don’t consider serious theology.

Thanks for the ongoing support, the interest in my work, and for feedback.
