Stoicism and New Year’s Resolutions

0 minutes, 33 seconds Read

I uploaded a new YouTube video titled ‘Stoicism and New Year’s Resolutions’ as part of my ongoing Stoic Philosophy video series.

My Stoic Philosophy video series explores the philosophical tradition of Stoicism with goals to inform, empower, and help others benefit from the practical wisdom of Ancient Greek, Roman, and modern thinkers.

I discuss New Year’s Resolutions from a Stoic perspective. This video focuses on Book Two, Chapter Eighteen of Epictetus’ Discourses titled ‘How Must We Struggle Against Impressions.’ I talk about habit-forming, desires, setting goals, replacing bad habits, mindset, relapse, awareness, prudence, procrastination, and excuse-making.

Happy New Year!
